Authentic Hope: Center for Peace and Empowerment is a nonprofit counseling center that works with adults, teens, children, and young adults and supports clients and their families who struggle with grief, anxiety, and trauma recovery. We strive to empower not only our clients, but also our community by offering one on one counseling as well as community outreach programs. Our goal is to increase access to mental health services for families and youth.

We are located in downtown Corvallis in close proximity to Oregon State University. We offer a friendly, collaborative work environment, full administrative support, flexible scheduling, telehealth options, paid time off, and a four day work week (with the option to work more.)

We are now an approved 501(c)(3) and we will be applying as a site for the National Health Service Corp loan forgiveness program.
Masters Level Intern
You must be working toward your degree with an accredited school in a program that aligns with our organization.
Our ideal intern student would be:

2nd year student
-
Wanting to work in person (we are located in Corvallis, OR)

Willing to work with children and teens, or at least with ages 16-25, or interested in working on childhood trauma

Interest in being trained in play therapy, mindfulness and embodied clinical strategies
What we offer:

Weekly one on one supervision with an LCSW supervisor

Supportive environment with a focus on healthy work habits

$50/week stipend
Responsibilities and Duties:
-
Assess and provide best practice treatment for adults, teens, and children with mental health concerns

Conduct individual counseling sessions with scheduled clients using professional counseling standards in accordance with individual treatment plans

Document treatment plans, counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions according to professional clinical social worker standards

Professional communication with clients, co-workers, and community members
-
Follow legal, ethical, and professional obligations of your respective Oregon governing board

Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled
